Leg anatomy - process

They're a little messy, but here are some recent lecture notes on building the anatomy of the legs. The steps move from a simple skeleton description, to a basic visualization of pattern and shape, then finally to detailing out more specific muscle qualities and perspectives.

Legs and an explanation ...

Here are a few of my leg and anatomy lecture demonstrations. Additionally, I have also included some text to hopefully clarify my interests and concerns when teaching anatomy. Please look at these drawings as aids to understand the process notes on the leg posted May 21.

I haven't put up any feet yet, hopefully I'll get some better leg diagrams up this weekend to go with.

Additional Leg Examples

Here are a couple examples for extra reference on development of the leg. The above image shows examples of the lay-in or gesture stage. Here I am looking for weight, through the tilt of the pelvis, and weight bearing leg (shown with straighter lines), while also indicating perspective with some volumes and wrapping lines.

This next drawing shows a second level to the legs development. On top of the initial stage, these drawings use cylinders to describe basic volume and perspective placement, and then have simple anatomical volumes wrapped around those forms.
